Germany

Cold weather means it's best to head away from the beach since you can't swim. I thought, "This will be the perfect time to explore Germany!!" Boy, was I wrong...

Actually, we had a pretty relaxing time during our travels. We stayed in an AirBNB that use to be an inn in Nussdorf am Inn. Though, I had many, many, many plans for our stay, the weather did not cooperate. We were hit with snow & ICE which made my stomach churn during the drive. We were able to see the Dachau Concentration Camp before the storm hit. That has to be my favorite part about the whole trip. I learned more and left with an intense somber feeling having seen the place with my own eyes. I took a photo only of the outside gate and chose to put my camera away after that. We tried to go to the Neuschwanstein Castle but the drive did not look promising so we turned back around and enjoyed our evening in the hotel. The next morning the weather had cleared up a bit so we set off on our Castle Journey. Let me tell you, it was not what I was hoping for. Once we'd arrived, we shortly found out that the tickets to enter were sold out. I thought, "That's okay! We can still walk up there and see the beauty it offers!" It was sooo foggy out but that was not the worst part... The castle was wrapped with tarp and it looked like a construction site!! Talk about a let down!!!  So, if anyone is hoping to see the Castle that is said to have inspired Walt Disney, don't go at this time...

Over all, our trip was wonderful because of the quality family time. Sometimes, it's good to get away and just enjoy those around you even if things don't go as planned. Of course, I am not done with Germany and can't wait to get back to do all the exploring!!
